What To Expect!

We welcome you to visit us on Sunday mornings. We want you to feel comfortable at Church On The Rock, so we’ve outlined what you can expect when you visit.

Parking.

There is ample parking surrounding Calera High School for you to be able to find a close parking space.

Our People.

One word has always been used to describe Church On The Rock – friendly.  Our people are committed to hospitality and generosity.  When you visit, you will be sure to find people with smiling faces and open arms.

Service Times.

We have one service that begins every Sunday morning at 10:00 am.  We’d love for you to come early and enjoy a cup of coffee with us, mingle with others and make new friends. Our first impression teams are here to help you feel welcomed and meet new people.

Children’s Church & Nursery.

Our goal is to teach children about the love of Jesus in an age-appropriate teaching style.  Children’s church is available for kids in K – 5th grade; infant, toddler nurseries and preschool are available for children not in Children’s church.  Our Kidz Rock Children’s ministry has an amazing service filled with worship, games, scripture memory, lessons and activities designed to train and encourage your children to be followers of Jesus.

Services.

Our services are relaxed, engaging and generally last about an hour and a half.  We open service with songs and prayer.  Lyrics are projected on screens at the front of the sanctuary.  Feel free to engage in this time in whatever manner you feel comfortable.  After this time, we take a short break to hear about upcoming events before the main message which usually lasts 25 – 30 minutes.  Bible passages are also projected on the screen at the front of the sanctuary.

Teaching.

We are committed to preaching and teaching about the life changing power of Jesus.  We do this by preaching weekly from the Bible and connecting it to the practical aspects of daily life.  Don’t know much about the Bible?  Don’t worry.  Our goal is to make each sermon easy to understand and meaningful to all people – regardless of their church experience.

Music.

Our music is a blend of contemporary and traditional songs.  Lyrics are projected onto the screen at the front of the sanctuary for you to sing along. Feel free to stand or sit during worship (singing time), which ever makes you more comfortable. Feel free to sing loud for all to hear; we believe singing to the Lord is a sign of love and respect to Him. You don’t have to be a great singer to participate.

What to Wear.

Come as you are.  Most people come casually dressed just as you would see around town.
